Things Cats Are At Least Somewhat Grateful For

November 15, 2021

Thanksgiving isn’t far off now! While we all enjoy getting together with friends and family, it’s important to remember the real meaning behind the autumn holiday: gratitude. We’re definitely grateful for our feline friends. But what about Fluffy? What is she thankful for? A San Antonio, TX veta lists some of the things your furball may actually appreciate below.

Toys

Your cute little pet will always be a hunter at heart. It’s important for Fluffy to be able to let her inner lion out. Offer her a variety of toys to pounce on.

Beds

Our feline buddies are very, very sleepy. Make sure Fluffy has plenty of comfy spots to choose from for those 48 daily naps. In addition to getting a few store-bought beds, you can also just fold up blankets and put them in boxes or baskets, or on chairs or ottomans.

Clean Litterboxes

Changing the litterbox isn’t the best part of having a cat, but it’s definitely a necessary evil, and one your furry friend is thankful for. Nobody likes a dirty bathroom!

Playtime

Toys are great, but as far as Fluffy is concerned, the best plaything out there is you. Taking time to play with your feline pal regularly will benefit her both mentally and physically. It’s also a good way for her to work off any kitty angst she is feeling!

Good Food

Proper nutrition will play a huge role in your furball’s overall health and well-being. Offer your kitty a high-quality food, one that is appropriate for her age and lifestyle. Treats are fine, too, as long as you don’t go overboard. Snacks should only make up about 5 percent of Fluffy’s daily caloric intake.

Cardboard Boxes

No one knows exactly why kitties like boxes so much. The most popular theory is that Fluffy feels safe in them. However, that doesn’t really make sense when you see pics of cats stuffing themselves into boxes that are clearly way too small.

Lap Space

We may joke about how cold and cunning Fluffy is, but that really isn’t true. Kitties are actually very loving and affectionate. Then again, maybe they just appreciate the fact that we apparently make quite comfortable cat furniture. With cats, you just never know!

Happy Thanksgiving. Please contact us, your San Antonio, TX animal clinic, for all of your beloved pet’s veterinary care needs.
