Reasons To Bring Your Puppy To Doggy Daycare

June 1, 2022

Have you recently adopted a puppy? Good for you! Training and socialization should definitely be on the agenda for the coming year, along with lots of cute moments. Doggy daycare can actually help with all of those things! Here, a San Antonio, TX veterinarian lists some reasons to bring little Fido to doggy daycare.

Playtime

Puppies are very playful, which is of course adorable. Little Fido will definitely appreciate that extra playtime he gets while you’re at work.

No Destruction

Fido is a wonderful pet, but he does have some bad habits, such as digging and chewing. If your furry friend sometimes makes a mess when left home alone, doggy daycare may be a good fit.

Beat Doggy Boredom

Dogs are very sociable, and they can get quite lonely and distressed by themselves. Sitting alone in a quiet house is no fun for Man’s Best Friend. Little Fido will definitely have more fun playing with his buddies than he would staring at the walls, waiting for you to come home.

Schedule Sync

Pets often adjust their schedules so they can spend as much time as possible with their humans. That schedule match-up is another benefit of doggy daycare. When you and Fido get home, you’ll likely both be tired after a long, busy day. Your canine buddy will probably be more interested in cuddles and belly rubs than in vigorous exercise.

Socialization

Socialization is extremely important for young dogs. Fido needs to learn how to interact with both people and other pets. Exposing the little guy to different places and faces will teach him valuable lessons, and help him grow into a friendly, polite pup. Doggy daycare is ‘pawesome’ for this!

Training

That first year is a crucial time in Fido’s life. Your canine companion needs to learn all sorts of things, from being housebroken and crate trained to mastering important commands, such as Sit, Stay, and Come. While every doggy daycare is different, many do have options for training.

Boarding

Sooner or later, you’re going to have to board your pooch, whether it’s for a vacation, a business trip, or a major event. This will be much easier on you both if he’s already familiar with his home away from home!
